Rain Day Festival: July 29th!!
Rain Day is Waynesburg’s claim to fame! This festival is held every July 29th, Rain Or Shine. Rain day started in the early 1800’s and the Special Events Commission has brought continuity of this annual street festival to the heart of downtown Waynesburg with live entertainment all day long, arts, crafts, great food, children’s carnival games, face painting & petting zoo. The festival also consists of the Business Window decorating contest, Umbrella contest, Jack McCracken Award, Baby Rain Day and Company K Salute. Let’s not forget the Hat bet tradition the mayor wagers with a celebrity.

Rain Day Race:
Greene County Habitat for Humanity sponsors a Rain Day Race. The race includes a 5K Run/Walk and a One mile Kid’s Fun Run. Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Sheep and Fiber Festival

50’s Festival & Car Cruise
Started back in 2001 celebrating the golden era of Rock-n-Roll! Trick or Treating
It has been a tradition for Trick or Treating to be held the Thursday before Halloween. Trick or Treating will be from 4:00p.m. To 6:00p.m. We are asking all borough residence who will be handing out candy to please turn your porch lights on. This event is for Children Age 12 and under. Following Trick or treating the annual parade sponsored by the Lions Club will start in lot 2 which is located behind the Greene County office Building and proceed to High Street going two blocks west, ending at PNC parking lot where additional treats are distributed by the Lions Club to the children who participate in the parade.

Annual Halloween Spooktacular Downtown Merchant Costume Contest
The event will be held on October 31st, unless Halloween falls on a weekend it will be held on the Friday before. We are asking the employees of businesses located within the borough or any Chamber of Commerce member to come in their best costume and join us on the courthouse steps to be judged. Award will be presented to the Most Original along with 1st, 2nd & 3rd place awards to be presented to the Best Individual & Best Group. Must pre-register.
